Proof of Stake and Activity

Bahamut's PoSA consensus merges PoS and DPoS features. Validators are randomly chosen like in PoS, but PoSA also considers their activity levels. Validators with deployed smart contracts have a higher chance of validating transactions, ensuring network security, reliability, and resistance to cheating, while rewarding validators for their efforts.

Bahamut Mainnet currently operates on the Proof of Authority (PoA) consensus mechanism, with 9 authority nodes responsible for validating transactions. We are scheduled to upgrade to the more decentralized Proof of Stake Authority (PoSA) consensus mechanism in Q1 2025, enhancing network security and scalability through staked validators.
