Bahamut has recently introduced the second-layer network, Caucasus. Bahamut has recently surpassed the 6 million wallet mark and with multiple projects and games flowing in, a scaling solution was becoming a necessity. Therefore Caucasus Layer 2 has been built on top of Bahamut, to increase scalability and act as a gaming-oriented blockchain.
The main goal of Caucasus is to provide higher transaction speed, scalability and cost efficiency by sharing the burden with the Bahamut mainnet. It will reduce transaction fees (gas fees), and speed up transaction times during periods of high network activity by accelerating transaction latency by 6 times, and throughput by 12 times, providing a 2-second time-range for block creation, as opposed to the 12-second range in L1.
As the first Layer 2 on top of Bahamut mainnet, Caucasus will be hosting more decentralized games and other protocols, helping to strengthen the network and obtain additional incentives by the operating nodes.
